1. Introduction to Company Creation

Creating a company in Tally Prime is the first step to using the software. You need to set up basic information like company name, address, financial year, and GST details.

2. Step 1: Open Tally Prime

1. Double-click on the Tally Prime icon to open.
2. You will see the Company Info screen.
3. If no company exists, you will be prompted to Create a Company.

3. Step 2: Company Creation Screen

1. In the Company Info screen, click on "Create Company".
2. Alternatively, press Alt + K to open the Company Creation screen.
3. You will see the Company Creation form.

1. In the "Financial Year" field, enter the start date.
2. Format: DD-MM-YYYY (e.g., 01-04-2025).
3. In the "Books From" field, enter the accounting start date.
4. Click "Accept" to confirm.

6. Step 5: GST Settings

1. In the "Enable GST" option, select "Yes".
2. Enter the GST Registration Number.
3. Select GST Registration Type (Regular/Composition).
4. Select State for GST.
5. Configure GST Rate and HSN/SAC codes.

7. Step 6: Save and Open

1. Review all the details entered.
2. Press Enter or click "Accept".
3. The company will be created.
4. Tally will automatically open the new company.
5. You can now start accounting.
