Introduction to robotics, history and evolution of robotics, robotics terminology, robot anatomy - links, joints, manipulator, base, arm, wrist, end effector, degrees of freedom (DOF), robot configurations - Cartesian, cylindrical, spherical, articulated, SCARA, delta, parallel manipulators, workspace and reach, robot classifications - fixed, mobile, autonomous, humanoid, industrial, collaborative robots (cobots), end effectors - grippers, vacuum grippers, magnetic grippers, welding torches, spray guns, tool changers, robot specifications - payload, repeatability, accuracy, resolution, speed.
W2: Week 2: Sensors, Actuators, Kinematics, Robot Programming, Live Projects & Certification
Robotics sensors - proximity, touch, force/torque, vision, ultrasonic, infrared, encoders, IMU, LiDAR, sensor interfacing and signal conditioning, actuators and drives - DC motors, stepper motors, servo motors, linear actuators, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators, gearboxes, transmission systems, kinematics basics - forward kinematics, inverse kinematics, homogeneous transformations, Denavit-Hartenberg (DH) parameters, robot programming - teach pendant programming, lead-through programming, offline programming, robot programming languages, motion types - joint, linear, circular, live projects - pick and place robot, line following robot, obstacle avoidance robot, robotic arm simulation, complete documentation, viva-voce examination, certificate distribution.
