Introduction to industrial automation, automation hierarchy, types of automation - fixed, programmable, flexible, PLC fundamentals, PLC vs relay logic, PLC architecture, CPU, memory types, I/O modules, power supply, PLC scan cycle - input scan, program execute, output update, PLC wiring, sinking vs sourcing, PLC addressing, PLC programming languages - ladder logic (LD), function block diagram (FBD), structured text (ST), instruction list (IL), sequential function chart (SFC), PLC hardware - Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Delta, Mitsubishi, Schneider, PLC software - TIA Portal, RSLogix, GX Works, WPLSoft.
W2: Week 2: Ladder Logic, Timers, Counters, Live Projects & Certification
Ladder logic fundamentals, rungs, rails, NO, NC contacts, output coils, set/reset, latching, basic logic gates in ladder, timers - TON (Timer ON delay), TOF (Timer OFF delay), RTO (Retentive Timer ON), timer applications, counters - CTU (Count Up), CTD (Count Down), counter applications, comparison instructions - EQU, NEQ, GRT, LES, GEQ, LEQ, math instructions - ADD, SUB, MUL, DIV, move instructions - MOV, COP, jump and subroutine instructions, analog I/O, ADC, scaling, PID basics, live projects - motor start/stop with interlock, traffic light control, conveyor belt control, water level control, complete documentation, viva-voce examination, certificate distribution.
