Program Modules
B1: Days 1-5: Network Foundations
Day 1 - Networking today: LAN, WAN, internet, network roles and IT career paths. Day 2 - Network devices, topologies, reliable networks, cloud and BYOD trends. Day 3 - OSI and TCP/IP models, protocols, standards and data encapsulation. Day 4 - Physical layer: copper, fiber and wireless media, Ethernet basics. Day 5 - Ethernet frames, MAC addresses, switching concepts and MAC table. Practical: topology drawing, device identification, protocol-to-layer mapping, MAC-table simulation. Daily short quiz and instructor feedback.
B2: Days 6-10: IP Addressing, Subnetting & Connectivity Testing
Day 6 - IPv4 address structure, public and private addresses, default gateway. Day 7 - Binary and decimal conversion, subnet masks, CIDR, subnetting a /24 network. Day 8 - Subnetting /16 and /8, VLSM and IP plan for departments. Day 9 - IPv6 structure, address types, GUA and LLA, dual-stack plan. Day 10 - ARP, ICMP, ping, traceroute and connectivity testing. Milestone: IP addressing and subnetting worksheet.
B3: Days 11-15: Cisco IOS, Switch Configuration & VLANs
